Thursday Evening at Brooklyn Bridge Park: Celebrate Brooklyn!'s Funk Dance Party with Maceo Parker and DJ Spinna

Last evening we were at gorgeous Brooklyn Bridge Park, getting there early

for Celebrate Brooklyn!'s new series of Thursday night dance parties.

Funk Dance Party featured the legendary Maceo Parker,

Brooklyn's own DJ Spinna,

some classic music -- James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic, Bootsy Collins, Prince and more -- from funky days gone by,

and hundreds of people rocking out to the great sounds.

We are grateful we got to attend.
