Late Wednesday Afternoon in Tribeca: The View from Borough of Manhattan Community College Campus at Chambers Street

We've always loved the early evening and night view of lower Manhattan as we exit the Borough of Manhattan Community College's main building on Chambers Street near West Street. It looked particularly nice at 4:45 p.m. today.

Early Sunday Morning in Lower Manhattan: Ten Years after 9/11

As we got off the J train at Chambers Street to go to our 9:00 a.m. class at Borough of Manhattan Community College, we saw some of the people out for the tenth annivesary of the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center a few blocks away.

People were handing out flags, Bibles, prayer books. The 9/11 families were getting off buses and vans. Some wore T-shirts with the names and pictures of their loved ones. Photographers were out in force, and reporters were interviewing first responders and survivors and family members. White memorial ribbons festooned Trinity Church.

The streets below Chambers Street were blocked off to everyone except those who had passes.

Thursday Afternoon in Battery Park: Flags of Heroes by The Sphere from the World Trade Center

On a day when it was confirmed by a judge that I am the official candidate of the Green Party for Congress in Arizona's Sixth Congressional District,

on a day when I took advantage of a friend's spare ticket to attend some of the day's Rosh Hashona services at an Upper East Side synagogue (Mort Zuckerman and some of the Sulzbergers were there, too)

only to discover I'd been called a Nazi supporter by my own party's lawyer in a Phoenix courtroom -- I found myself in Battery Park in the afternoon, watching people take photographs with the field of Flags of Heroes

by The Sphere from the World Trade Center. It was a nice Rosh Hashona respite.

L'shanah tovah!
