Saturday Afternoon in Williamsburg: Vintage Electric Guitars for Sale on Metropolitan Avenue

On this sunny, fairly mild afternoon, vintage electric guitars -- over forty of them at the start -- were on sale from a booth on Metropolitan Avenue by Lorimer Street.

It was "a one-day event," said the man in charge of the booth, which featured some fine-looking guitars from different decades.

A good number of people were interested. Some were buying.

We heard several of them say they were in bands. Naturally. This is Brooklyn.

It was pleasant to hear the sounds as people tried them out or as the sales guy demonstrated the guitars.

Not everyone nearby was interested.

We were content to stop, look and listen, and then, when the time came, earnestly follow the cotton candy man up Lorimer Street to get home.
