Saturday Afternoon on the Lower East Side: Festival of Ideas for the New City StreetFest on the Bowery

We were lucky enough to walk around the Bowery this afternoon for the StreetFest of the Festival of Ideas for the New City, which has been taking place this week with a conference of symposia, lectures and workshops -- with exemplary mayors like Antanas Mockus, technology experts like Jaron Lanier, architects like Rem Koolhaas, artists, economists, forecasters and visionaries -- addressing the Festival's themes: The Heterogeneous City, The Networked City, The Reconfigured City and The Sustainable City.

The Festival's founder is The New Museum.

Paul Villinski's Emergency Response Studio was impressive, one of many innovative projects we're grateful to have seen at the StreetFest.
